The NAADAC Professional Liability Program is custom designed especially for alcoholism and drug abuse counselors who are members and provides the most comprehensive, cost effective liability coverage available.
Highlights of the NAADAC Liability Insurance Program:

Individual Professional Liability: You are covered for your professional services for up to $1 million per incident with a $3 million annual aggregate.

Supplemental Liability: Pays for legal liability, up to the policy limit, for bodily injury or property damage which occurred while you were rendering professional services.

Defendants' Reimbursements: Pays up to $250 per day/$5,000 per suit, for time and expenses associated with your attendance at a trial or arbitration hearing. The suit or proceedings must result from an injury covered by the policy.

Medical Expenses: Pays up to $1,000, subject to a $50,000 aggregate, for three years after the accident, for necessary medical expenses caused by bodily injury which occurred while you were providing professional services.

First Aid: Pays up to $500 of incurred expenses, for first aid to other for an injury covered by the policy. The first aid must be given within 48 hours of the injury.

Damage to Property of Others: Pays up to $250 per occurrence for damage you cause to others' property while it is in your care.

Defense Costs: Legal fees and court costs involving claims or allegations covered by the policy will be paid on your behalf at no additional cost.

Defense Cost for Licensing Board and Civil Investigations: Defense coverage up to $2,500 per incident and $5,000 per year will be provided for civil investigations and/or licensing board disciplinary proceedings from rendering of professional services.
Cost: From $195 for full members - $32 for student members.

Type:
This is an "Occurrence Form" policy, which means that you are insured for life, even if you change employers, professions, or stop working, as long as the covered incidents occur while the policy is in effect.

Eligibility: Open only to members of the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
(NAADAC) who meet the program requirements. The price of this insurance does not include the membership fee.

The program does not cover physicians, licensed or certified clinical psychologists, pastoral counselors, registered nurses in the practice of their professions or
hypnotherapists. It is intended only for alcoholism and drug abuse counselors who are members of
NAADAC.
