Detective First Lieutenant (D/F/Lt.) Timothy Gill is a native of the Lansing area and has been employed by the Michigan State Police for over twenty-one years. He is the Commander of the Michigan State Police - First District Drug Task Force Section and has oversight of four drug task force teams that collectively encompass eight counties (Gratiot, Shiawassee, Clinton, Ingham, Eaton, Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties). All four teams are undercover operations that investigate illegal drug trafficking activity and other major/violent crimes.

Tim actively works with prevention and treatment professionals and is the Chairperson for the Community Action Against Substance Abuse Coalition (CAASAC). D/F/Lt. Gill is also a Coordinating Council and the Eaton County Substance Abuse Advisory Group. He is a member of the Tri-County Area Alcohol Awareness Committee, which is a group of prevention, treatment, law enforcement, school, and business professionals that work to reduce underage drinking. These efforts include the Safe Prom Initiative, which he conceived and implemented.
